Governance Framework

Governance Framework

Structure with spirit. Accountability without bureaucracy.

“MEN rejects rigid bureaucracy but embraces structure with spirit. Governance exists to protect the vision

not to control the brotherhood, not to accumulate power, not to slow down what the Holy Spirit is already moving.”

— MEN Governance Principle

What MEN Governance Protects

The Vision

The long-term direction of MEN is not subject to the preferences of any single leader, chapter, or generation. Governance ensures the vision survives leadership transitions.

The Standards

MEN chapters and circles operate to a verified standard. Governance holds them accountable — not to suppress local expression, but to protect the global ethos.

The Brotherhood

When disputes arise, when leadership fails, when chapters lose their way — governance provides the structure to restore, correct, and rebuild without destroying what exists.

The Legacy

The decisions made today will shape MEN for 100 years. Governance ensures those decisions are made with that horizon in mind.

How MEN Is Governed

MEN operates under a three-tier governance structure:

Circles

The peer accountability unit. 6–10 men led by a Circle Lead. The smallest and most intimate layer — where the real work of brotherhood happens.

Chapters

The community unit. A chapter encompasses multiple circles, led by a Chapter Lead. Chapters are the primary expression of MEN in a city, region, sector, or diaspora.

MEN Council (MENInternational)

The international governance body. Responsible for standards, policy, leadership certification, chapter oversight, and the long-term vision of MEN.

Servant Leadership

Authority in MEN is earned through service, not appointment. Leaders are expected to give more than they receive.

Transparent Accountability

Annual reporting, chapter reviews, and open financial summaries ensure that no part of MEN operates without accountability.

Distributed Authority

MEN is not centrally controlled. Chapters have autonomy within the standards. Governance protects the floor — it does not set a ceiling on what a chapter can become.

“A movement without structure becomes noise. A brotherhood without governance loses direction. A vision without protection cannot scale. MEN is built to last

and governance is what makes that possible.”
