The MEN Council
The governing body of MEN — elected through service, not politics.
What Is the MEN Council?
The MEN Council is the international governing body of MEN. It holds the highest institutional authority within the brotherhood — and with it, the highest responsibility.
Council members are not politicians. They are brothers who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to MEN’s vision through years of service, consistent leadership, and the trust of the chapters they have served.
The Council does not manage day-to-day operations. It protects the long-term vision, sets governance standards, oversees the leadership pathway, approves chapter certifications, and ensures that MEN remains true to its founding principles across generations and geographies.
“Authority in MEN is not a reward. It is a weight. The men on the Council carry more responsibility, not more privilege.”
What the MEN Council Does
Protects the Vision
Ensures that MEN’s founding principles are never compromised — through leadership transitions, geographic expansion, or cultural pressure.
Certifies Leadership
Reviews and certifies Chapter Leads and senior MEN leaders. Not a rubber stamp — a genuine accountability mechanism.
Governs Policy
Sets and updates MEN’s Standards & Policies. Ensures that governance remains responsive to the needs of the brotherhood without compromising the standards.
Publishes Accountability
Produces annual reports, financial summaries, and governance reviews. Transparency is not optional — it is a Council obligation.
Service Earns a Seat
Council membership in MEN is not elected by popular vote. It is earned through a demonstrated track record:
- Sustained service as a Chapter Lead
- Exemplary alignment with the MEN Creed and Culture Code
- Nomination by peers and ratified by existing Council members
- Successful completion of the MEN Leadership Pathway
The standard is high — deliberately so. A governing body is only as trustworthy as the character of the men on it.
